I thought he'd figured things out when we had that short stretch where we were scoring 4 goals a game but he reverted to type. History is instructive and, this season at least, he hasn't shown that he's capable of overseeing the kind of medium to long term improvement that he'll need to keep his job.
Shame really because we've been fannying around with managers for the last 10 years and I'd hoped he'd stick around but I think we've seen enough to know that he won't.
He's had 2 seasons though, which is about average these days. He's currently the 32nd longest serving manager in the 92.
Whoever we get in it's likely they wouldn't be around to manage the team in the new stadium, which unfortunately is just the madness of today's game.
I’d wager the next manager we appoint, and the one after that, won’t be managing us in the new stadium.
