Report Milan frustrated by Corinthians and abandon Andre pursuit
In a sudden turnaround, Italian reports suggest Milan have abandoned negotiations with Corinthians for midfielder André after a new offer was rejected.
The situation has been confusing even for the Rossoneri themselves, who thought that an agreement had been reached with the Brazilian club worth €17m including add-ons.
However, Corinthians President Osmar Stabile rejected it outright, demanding considerably more.
Milan frustrated by André situation
According to ESPN Brasil, a new offer was made today worth €18m plus another €4m in performance-related bonuses, taking the total fee to €22m.
Within hours of that story breaking, MilanNews claimed that the response was so negative that the Rossoneri decided to scrap the whole move.
The directors have been frustrated with the chaotic way that Corinthians have been dealing with this, having believed they already had an agreement in place weeks ago.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been compared to current Atalanta star Ederson and was so eager to come to San Siro that he was prepared to forego the 30 per cent of the transfer he would’ve been owed.
