Three clubs now want to sign £70m Man Utd star who prefers European stay

0 0

Manchester United are poised to part ways with midfielder Casemiro when his contract concludes this summer.

The Brazilian’s departure has already been confirmed by the club. They have no plans to change their decision despite his brilliant Premier League form over the last two months.

ESPN now claim that Casemiro prefers to continue in one of Europe’s top leagues next term, but there is significant interest from Major League Soccer through Inter Miami and Los Angeles Galaxy.

Both clubs have filled their designated-player quotas and may have to make room for Casemiro.

The experienced midfielder is also on the radar of Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad, who consider him as a potential replacement for Fabinho, whose contract expires this summer.

Casemiro has plenty of choices for his next club

The 34-year-old has been a vital figure in United’s push for Champions League football since the turn of the year. He has been hugely involved with seven goals and two assists in the league season.

Casemiro is no longer in the prime of his career, but he has still fared well defensively. The £70 million signing has won five duels and 2.4 tackles per appearance with four recoveries.

The Brazilian’s exit will leave a big void to fill for the Red Devils this summer. Meanwhile, Casemiro has plenty of options for a free transfer, particularly with lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia and the USA.

However, we won’t be surprised if the former Real Madrid man chooses to prolong his stay in Europe. In that case, Roma could emerge as a potential candidate to secure his signature.

The Giallorossi were linked with a surprise loan move for Casemiro in January last year, and there were claims that the midfielder would be open to joining the Serie A heavyweights too.

Nothing materialised at that time, but they could return for his services. Casemiro could be tempted to join the Giallorossi on a Bosman transfer if they qualify for Europe next season.

He would obviously need to accept a significant pay cut on his £350,000 per week salary to continue his association with European football during the 2026/27 season and beyond.
