Tottenham agree fee for Darim Tchadjobo: Eyes on the future amid relegation fears
Tottenham Hotspur have beaten many top clubs in the world to a highly-rated teenage striker, but fans may not see him for a few years.
Spurs’ full focus at the moment will be on survival in the Premier League, with relegation now looking more than just a realistic possibility for the club following their loss to Nottingham Forest.
According to reports, Tottenham are now expected to replace Igor Tudor before they take to the field after the international break against Sunderland on April 12.
However, amidst their search for a new manager and relegation fears, the club have reportedly managed to strike a deal for a highly sought-after youngster.
Tottenham agree fee with Forest Green for Darim Tchadjobo
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Tottenham have agreed a fee with Forest Green for the transfer of 14-year-old striker Darim Tchadjobo.
Tchadjobo has received significant attention this season due to his impressive performances and goalscoring prowess in youth football.
Despite the striker being on the radar of many top clubs, it is Spurs who now look poised to add him to their academy ranks.
O’Rourke wrote on X: “Tottenham have agreed a fee with Forest Green for teenage sensation Darim Tchadjobo. The young striker is a target for a number of top clubs with Spurs keen to win the race for his signature.”
Will Spurs’ focus on young talent pay off?
Tottenham have some outstanding young talents in their academy as well as their first-team set-up at the moment.
Big things are expected over the coming years from the likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Luka Vuskovic, Mikey Moore, Callum Olusesi and others.
However, Tottenham face the risk of having their young starlets poached this summer, with many big clubs around Europe circling over their young players as the club teeter on the edge of relegation.
