Tottenham confirm Champions League knockout phase squad changes after Thomas Frank decisions

0 3

Thomas Frank has now confirmed his 25-man Champions League squad ahead of the knockout round of the competition.

While Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League form has faltered for much of the 2025-26 season, their performances in Europe have been near flawless.

Last month, Thomas Frank’s side sealed a top-four place in the Champions League league phase, finishing above European heavyweights Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.

That impressive achievement means Spurs will play the second leg of their knockout ties in front of their home supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having also earned a significant financial windfall from their Champions League run.

Tottenham Champions League squad decisions confirmed by Thomas Frank

With the league phase of Europe’s premier competition behind us, Thomas Frank has now sent in his 25-man squad for the knockout phase of the Champions League.

It had already been revealed that Frank would have to make several key decisions regarding his Champions League squad following the conclusion of the league phase and the closure of the transfer window.

Conor Gallagher and Souza were both signed in January and were unable to feature in the Champions League, having not been registered by Tottenham.

However, there is now a window for Frank to submit a revised 25-man squad to aid Spurs in their push to progress further in the competition.

Mathys Tel, Radu Dragusin and Conor Gallagher have all been added while the injured duo of Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies drop out, along with Brennan Johnson following his move to Crystal Palace.

What Thomas Frank’s latest Spurs calls could mean

The last time Frank was required to make similar decisions, he opted to leave out Mathys Tel, Yves Bissouma, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.

Some of those calls were justified due to injuries, with the majority of those players set to spend an extended period on the sidelines.

Tottenham still have several players unavailable, although they are expected to return around the time the Champions League round of 16 comes into view, leaving Frank with difficult choices but a clear focus on putting together a strong run in the competition.
