Barcelona legend says player has outgrown Tottenham before even making his debut
Ivan Rakitic has said that one Tottenham Hotspur youngster has already outgrown the Lilywhites, even though he is yet to make his senior debut for the North London club.
Spurs boast of some extremely talented young players in their youth set-up as well as their first-team.
The likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert could have big futures, while there is also a lot of excitement surrounding the likes of Mikey Moore and Luca Williams-Barnett.
However, the Spurs teenager who has been hitting the headlines the most this season is Luka Vuskovic, who was voted the best player in the Bundesliga in the first half of the season, even beating Harry Kane to the award.
Bayern Munich told to poach Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham
The centre-back has been so good at Hamburg that reports indicate that Bayern Munich are already circling around the Spurs youngster.
Croatian legend Ivan Rakitic has now urged the Bavarian side to do all they can to sign the teenager, opining that the centre-back is already ready to take a step up from Tottenham.
The former Barcelona man told Sky Sports Germany about Vuskovic: “All of Europe is talking about him right now. FC Bayern needs to do everything [to sign him]. I believe the boy has to go to Bayern.
“He has everything it takes to become one of the best centre-backs. I’m curious to see if Tottenham will manage to keep him beyond the summer. In my opinion, he’s already ready for the next step to one of the absolute top clubs. And for me, there are only four or five of those clubs in Europe.”
Are Bayern trying to turn Vuskovic’s head?
Tottenham fans may be worried by the multiple flattering comments made about the youngster from people associated with the Bavarian club over the last few days.
As Spurs Web previously covered, Vincent Kompany described Vuskovic as a ‘big talent’ and lavished praise on the centre-back ahead of Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Hamburg on Saturday.
Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus has also waxed lyrical about the Tottenham defender, which some may view as a concerted effort by the German club to turn on the charm offensive towards the Croat ahead of a potential summer move.
