Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s Premier League finish after Man City draw

0 2

We take a look at whether Opta’s Supercomputer has revised its predictions on where Tottenham Hotspur will finish this season after they salvaged a draw against Manchester City.

At the interval on Sunday, things were looking very ugly for Tottenham, with the home side struggling to even lay a glove on Man City in the first period and trailing 2-0 at the break.

Spurs were ravaged by injuries, forcing Thomas Frank to hand Yves Bissouma and Radu Dragusin starts, and to make matters worse, Cristian Romero was forced off at half-time due to illness.

However, the Lilywhites rallied and delivered an inspired performance in the second-half, putting Pep Guardiola’s men under pressure and managing to deservedly level the game through a brace from Dominic Solanke.

Where Tottenham are expected to finish in the Premier League this season

However, despite Spurs’ second-half heroics against Man City, Opta’s Supercomputer has not revised its predictions on where the Lilywhites will finish in the Premier League table this season.

The data analysis platform predicts that Tottenham will have to settle for a 14th place finish, which is the position they currently occupy in the table.

Opta expect Thomas Frank’s men to accumulate just 47.43 points in their 38 matches and the algorithm gives them a mere 0.13 per cent chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Spurs are showing signs of improvement

While the results may not have improved over the last few weeks, Tottenham’s performances do appear to be on an upward trajectory.

That is also clear from the stats, with Tottenham having created the third most chances in the Premier League since the start of 2026.

Xavi Simons now appears to have settled in English football while Solanke’s return has also made a big difference, and Spurs fans will be hoping that the Lilywhites can now hit a new gear over the coming weeks.
