Selection bombshell: Carrick may drop trusted 26yo to unleash £12.8m ace vs Fulham

0 0

Manchester United will be eager to extend their winning surge when they welcome Fulham to Old Trafford in the Premier League tomorrow.

After back-to-back blockbuster victories over Manchester City and Arsenal, United now face a very different kind of challenge.

Caretaker head coach Michael Carrick has also been boosted by the return of several key players from injury and AFCON duty.

One such returnee made a brief cameo against Arsenal and could now be in line for a full recall to the starting XI.

That player is Noussair Mazraoui.

The 28-year-old has been limited to just 10 appearances for the Red Devils this season.

A frustrating mix of injuries and international commitments has turned his campaign into a stop-start ordeal.

We believe Mazraoui could replace Diogo Dalot in the right-back position.

Dalot is one of the more experienced members of this United squad.

There is no doubt that the 26-year-old defender is a hardworking player.

His versatility has been a major reason why every United manager has relied on him so heavily.

Despite finding himself in promising attacking positions, Dalot has too often failed to make those moments count.

Mazraoui offers a clear technical and tactical upgrade in key areas.

Signed for £12.8 million from Bayern Munich in 2024, the Moroccan international has already shown why he is regarded as a high-level operator.

He brings greater composure, sharper decision-making and superior game intelligence on the right flank.

His presence would allow Amad Diallo or Bryan Mbeumo to drift into more dangerous central areas.

Mazraoui also boasts the tactical awareness to support the attack while remaining defensively disciplined.
