I'm not usually very complimentary about BL articles and they seem to come to social media to get their finger on the pulse before writing the articles (which is understandable but also a bit lame), but I have to say that the point made in this article is spot on - it's almost as if they recycled one of my recent comments/arguments on here.

I wonder if they'll get downvoted and called a miserable fecker as well? ????

Cochrane was struck down over Christmas and Blues played five games without an orthodox left-back. They failed to record a victory in those matches. After a transfer window in which Blues have splashed the cash – around £15million on permanent buys Wagner, Priske and Vicente – it doesn’t make sense to cut any corners.
Those signings have been made with a tilt at the top-six in mind. With Blues seemingly going all out, why wouldn't they sign the extra centre-back that's needed? [snip] Blues knew they needed a centre-back from the outset in January and one has to arrive before 7pm on Monday, otherwise they will leave themselves short.
