FIFA begins Women’s World Cup countdown with Rio launch
January 27 – FIFA has officially begun the countdown to the Women’s World Cup 2027 with a launch event on the iconic Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro.
The celebration marked a milestone on the road to the first Women’s World Cup to be staged in South America, with FIFA unveiling the tournament’s emblem, the ‘GO EPIC’ slogan.
“Brazil lives and breathes football, and you can feel the excitement here about welcoming the world and hosting a historic event,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
