Man United enter race for £35m Rennes striker alongside Tottenham and Chelsea
Man United are stepping up their interest in a highly rated Ligue 1 striker, with Tottenham and Chelsea also monitoring developments as competition intensifies from across Europe and Saudi Arabia.
It was revealed earlier this week that Tottenham Hotspur are among six Premier League clubs in the race for Mohamed Kader Meite.
The highly rated 18-year-old Rennes striker is rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe this winter after impressing with his maturity, pace and sharp eye for goal, scoring three goals in 19 appearances in all competitions for the French club.
However, the teenager has not only drawn interest from sides in England. Al Hilal are reported to be keen on securing his services and have reportedly submitted a £35 million bid for the young forward, who remains unconvinced about a move to Saudi Arabia.
It is believed that Meite prefers to remain in Europe instead of moving to the Middle East as he continues his development.

A fresh report from CaughtOffside now claims that Manchester United have entered the race for the 18-year-old Rennes forward as interest in him continues to intensify.
Spurs have sent scouts to watch Meite in recent times, but several other sides have done the same as they weigh up a potential move for the striker.
However, it is now believed that two of Tottenham Hotspur’s top-six rivals, Manchester United and Chelsea, could lead the race to sign Meite if they decide to step up their interest.
Crystal Palace also pushing for Rennes striker
Crystal Palace remain in the picture and are believed to be more advanced in their interest in the 18-year-old.
It is understood that the Eagles have made enquiries for the services of Meite and are keen on signing him as they look to bolster their squad.
Rennes, however, is in a strong negotiating position, with Meite under contract until June 2028 and the French club under no pressure to sell, particularly during the mid-season window.
