Malen arrives in Rome ahead of move from Aston Villa to Roma
Donyell Malen has arrived in Rome ahead of the completion of his move from Aston Villa to Roma, with the deal now fully agreed between all parties.
The Dutch forward landed at Ciampino Airport on Wednesday evening after being given permission by Aston Villa to travel, marking the final step before the transfer is made official.
Around 50 Roma supporters were present to welcome Malen, who is set to become the Giallorossi’s second signing of the January transfer window.
Malen joins Roma on loan with potential permanent move
Roma have reached an agreement with Aston Villa on a loan deal worth £2m, which includes a £25m purchase clause that will become mandatory once certain conditions are met.
The operation has been managed directly by Roma sporting director Ricky Massara, with Villa accepting all terms proposed by the Serie A side.
His arrival gives Roma a new attacking option as they look to strengthen their forward line for the second half of the season.
The 26-year-old is expected to add pace, versatility and depth, capable of operating both as a second striker and across the front line.
