19yo Man Utd midfielder now training with another club, set to move on loan
Manchester United midfielder Sekou Kone could soon be close to formally sealing his loan move.
According to journalist Rich Fay, Kone is training with Lausanne-Sport and took part in a friendly fixture for them today.
The 19-year-old is spending some time there to see if a loan would suit both parties.
Kone is a defensive midfielder by trade and moved to Carrington from the Malian side Guidars FC in the summer of 2024.
He was moved to the youth teams to help him acclimatise to English football.
The youngster has impressed with his ability to shield the defence by making important tackles but has been forced to spend time on the sidelines due to injuries.
He was included in matchday squads for a few games during the tail end of last season but did not get the chance to make his debut.
When Toby Collyer was sent on loan earlier this summer, many believed that Kone would be promoted to the senior set-up.
An unfortunate head injury fractured his eye socket during a National League Cup game, forcing him out of action for weeks.
Kone made his return in November but the injury took crucial development time away from the youngster.
The teenager now needs regular action to get his development back on track.
A loan move is a good option but the destination of Lausanne-Sport is debatable.
Moving to an English outfit would have been better for the midfielder rather than spending six months with another INEOS-owned club in the Swiss Super League.
