Barcelona director Deco confirms that Joao Cancelo is on the verge of returning to Catalunya: ‘We are finalising the negotiation.’

Now, the Catalans’ director Deco has confirmed that the La Liga giants will soon finalise the deal.

“We hope so,” Deco said via Gazzetta.

“We are finalising the negotiation. He still hasn’t had his medical tests, but he’ll soon fly to Barcelona, and we’ll close the deal.”

Cancelo has fallen out with Al-Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi and has been frozen out of domestic league and Asian Champions League squads.

Inter remain on the market for a new right wing-back, given that Denzel Dumfries is not expected to return to action before March.

Reports in Italy indicate that Dodo (Fiorentina), Nahuel Molina (Atletico Madrid) and their ex-defender Mattia Zanotti, now at FC Lugano, are among Inter’s targets on the right flank this month.

Cancelo spent two seasons in Serie A, first at Inter in 2017-18 and then at Juventus in the following campaign.
