Colombo chosen as Supercoppa referee for Napoli vs. Bologna Final
Andrea Colombo is the referee assigned to Monday’s EA Sports FC Supercup Final between Napoli and Bologna, with Marco Di Bello as the VAR.
It kicks off at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh on Monday at 19.00 GMT.
The trophy will be assigned after 90 minutes, or following a penalty shoot-out, as there is to be no extra time.
Napoli are the Scudetto winners and qualified for the Final after beating AC Milan 2-0 in their semi-final.
Coppa Italia holders Bologna held Inter to a 1-1 draw, eventually winning 4-3 on penalties.
Colombo will officiate Supercoppa Final
The Lega Serie A assigned this Final to 35-year-old referee Colombo, and it is the first major final of his career, after the 2024-25 UEFA Youth League Final between Barcelona and Trabzonspor.
He will be assisted by Alessio Berti and Valerio Vecchi, with Federico La Penna as the fourth official.
Di Bello is the VAR, assisted by Ivano Pezzuto.
Napoli’s record with Colombo as the referee is five wins, zero draws, and three defeats, including a chaotic 2-0 loss at Roma in December 2023 that saw Matteo Politano and Victor Osimhen sent off.
Bologna experienced three victories, one stalemate and one defeat under this official, including last season’s successes against Lazio and Inter.
However, he was also in charge when they lost 6-1 at Inter in November 2022.
