Tottenham linked with January move for striker who has become an outcast in Italy
Tottenham’s chances of landing a 25-year-old centre-forward have been boosted following the latest updates about his future.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are keen on adding a striker to their squad in January, and one player, who only made a big move in the summer, is thought to be on their radar.
According to some reports, Spurs have launched an enquiry for Jonathan David, who has struggled to produce the goods since his summer move to Juventus, having found the back of the net just three times this term in 21 appearances.
We have heard over recent months that Tottenham have made multiple enquiries for David, and a big development at Turin could potentially hand the Lilywhites a huge boost in their efforts to land the 25-year-old.
Tottenham target Jonathan David has been frozen out by Juventus teammates
A report in TuttoJuve (as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that the Canadian international is being ignored by his Juve teammates.
The report says that David has fallen out with other players in the squad and is not being invited to team meals.
It is revealed that the striker has not integrated with the squad at the Allianz Stadium, and journalist Massimo Pavan is quoted as saying about the situation: “How can anyone think that such things could happen at a club like Juventus?”
It is pointed out that a January sale could thus be on the cards and could be beneficial to the Bianconeri, given that the former Lille man is one of the highest earners in their squad.
Will Spurs sign a striker in January?
Reports continue to indicate that Thomas Frank will be given plenty of funds to strengthen the Tottenham squad in January.
However, it is unclear if signing a number nine would be a priority for the North London club in the upcoming transfer window.
Dominic Solanke is now on the verge of returning to action, which will solve some of the club’s issues upfront.
