Fresh fitness update emerges on Sesko, Amorim will be worried

0 0

Manchester United have received a fitness blow ahead of their Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth on Monday.

Benjamin Sesko suffered a knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur early last month.

He returned to individual training this week but suffered food poisoning, as revealed by club manager Ruben Amorim in the press conference on Friday.

According to reliable insider Sully Talkz, Sesko is set for an assessment tomorrow, but it is looking less likely he will make the matchday squad for the Bournemouth clash.

Many United fans were hoping to see the 22-year-old make his return against the Cherries but may now have to wait.

Sesko has had a promising start to his life at Manchester.

He has bagged two goals and one assist in just 616 Premier League minutes.

He has featured in 11 games but five of them have come from the bench.

Some pundits have prematurely labelled his start a failure, a reaction that smacks of knee-jerk and misplaced criticism.

In reality, Sesko has impressed as a focal point, using his frame intelligently while linking play smoothly in the final third.

The Slovenian has immense potential and has all the tools to develop into a genuine star at the highest level.

United will be hopeful of having him fit for the crucial trip to Villa Park if he is ruled out against Bournemouth.

With Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo set to leave the United camp for international duty, Sesko has a big role to play.
