Double Delight – Player of the Month Awards with Buck’s Bar

CONGRATULATIONS to Josh Fowler who landed November’s Buck’s Bar player of the month award, as voted for by Queen’s Park supporters.

It came as little surprise that the prolific Spiders striker took the award – his second of the season – after hitting four goals and laying on another throughout the penultimate month of the year.

He kept captain Euan Murray in second place for last month’s fan vote, with Grant Savoury’s return to the scoresheet also earning our number 10 some votes.

Josh picked up his prize from Buck’s Bar in Cathcart Road – just around the corner from our home at The city Stadium – this week.

And in a pleasant surprise for Spiders supporters he was joined by October Player of the Month, Charlie Fox.

Our popular defender won the October vote by a single percentage point over Matty Shiels – but was cruelly struck down by injury less than 24 hours later against Partick Thistle on November 1.

Foxy joined Josh to collect his Buck’s Bar voucher and belatedly taste-test the restaurant’s legendary Hot as Buck wings chosen for him by previous winner Matty.

Josh said: “I can handle spice but wow, those wings are something else!

“Thanks to Buck’s for their continued support of the awards and thanks to everyone who voted, I hope I can continue scoring the goals to keep me in the reckoning for the December award. If I am then it means I’m doing something right and doing my bit for the team.”

Charlie added: “I’m so pleased to be named October Player of the Month. I really appreciate that people took the time to vote for me and I actually found out the good news at Firhill after I was injured.

“I’d also like to thank everyone for their messages since my injury – it really means a lot to me and I hope to see everyone very soon.”

Rock’n’roll chicken restaurant Buck’s Bar have been supporters of Queen’s Park for the past three years and have five other venues as well as the southside restaurant in Cathcart Road.
