Man United plotting move for €60 million-rated midfielder
Manchester United are interested in Lille teenage sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to Foot Mercato.
The Red Devils face competition from Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan for the midfielder.
Arsenal have already made a concrete move to sign Bouaddi, with RMC Sport claiming that they have contacted his representatives.
However, the 18-year-old has yet to decide, which means United still have a chance of signing him.
Bouaddi is not expected to leave Lille in the winter transfer window, as he recently extended his contract with them. The Red Devils also have no plans to sign a midfielder at this time.
Lille are expecting several offers for Bouaddi next summer and have placed a €60 million valuation on him.
Bouaddi broke into the first team in 2023 in a Europa Conference League match against Faroese club KI, becoming the youngest ever player to appear in a European club competition game.
The promising midfielder has since become a regular in Lille’s team, failing to start just one league game that he has been in the matchday squad this term.
He plays in a two-man midfield at Lille, making him suitable for manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
Bouaddi has attracted the interest of France manager Didier Deschamps, who is pushing to secure his international future ahead of Morocco – a testament to the youngster’s immense potential.
It is unclear how much the Mancunian giants will push for Bouaddi’s signing, given their interest in Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and several other midfield targets.
The Lille star would cost less than some of those targets. However, he lacks Premier League experience, which may persuade United to target other options.
