Amorim to make 2 changes | Man Utd predicted XI vs Crystal Palace as £25m star finally starts
Manchester United will aim to return to winning ways when they face Crystal Palace on the road in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Red Devils were on a five-match unbeaten league run before a disappointing 1-0 loss to Everton, who played 80 minutes with 10 men at Old Trafford.
Manager Ruben Amorim will want a strong response against the Eagles. He could make at least two changes from the lacklustre display on Monday night.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Senne Lammens has been United’s regular in goal since making his debut against Sunderland last month. The Belgian has not kept a clean sheet since his maiden appearance, and will be eager to end the streak at Selhurst Park.
The back three could stay unchanged. Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw are poised to keep their places. Harry Maguire has been ruled out due to injury. Amorim said that Lisandro Martinez is ‘ready to play‘ after a long injury lay-off, but the Argentine could be initially introduced off the bench.
At right wing-back, we anticipate Noussair Mazraoui to continue, but there could be a change on the opposite end. In his pre-match presser, Amorim said he feels anxious whenever Patrick Dorgu has possession, and we won’t be surprised if he is dropped to the bench.
Diogo Dalot looks primed to start in the left wing-back position. The midfield is expected to stay unchanged, with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes keeping their places. Amorim has already clarified that Manuel Ugarte must improve in training to push for a starting berth.
In the final third, Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are guaranteed to start, though Joshua Zirkzee could get the axe. The Dutchman induced one big save from Jordan Pickford on Monday, but he was wasteful otherwise. He lost possession 12 times and missed another glorious scoring chance.
Mason Mount could finally be brought into the line-up after an extended spell starting on the bench. The £25 million star could feature alongside Amad in the attacking midfield department. We believe Mbeumo could slot in as the false striker with Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko ruled out.
