Paulo Dybala struggled to fight back the tears on the bench after missing a penalty kick and suffering an injury in Roma’s 1-0 loss against Milan on Sunday.

It was a terrible night for Dybala at San Siro as the Argentine forward suffered an injury while taking a penalty kick, which he missed, against the Rossoneri.

Dybala missed a penalty and got injured

It was the first penalty he had not scored in 19 attempts at club level. The last time he missed a spot kick was in November 2021 for Juventus against Salernitana.

DAZN showed a picture of a distraught Dybala on the Roma bench after he was subbed off.

What Gasperini said about Dybala

“The worst thing of all on the penalty is that Dybala got injured,” Gasperini told DAZN at full time.

“Now we need to see how long he’ll be out, certainly until after the break for international duty. This is the biggest loss of the night.”

Milan’s win allowed the Rossoneri to catch Roma and Inter in second place in Serie A with 21 points, one less than leaders Napoli.
