Aston Villa face league champions Liverpool on Merseyside with the teams in surprisingly different form. Villa have won their last four games in the Premier League. Liverpool have lost theirs. It’s all very unsettling indeed.
Villa manager Unai Emery will see only the rational facts, not the fear of the football gods that infects us all as supporters. There’s no logical reason to assume these two runs of form end at Anfield on Saturday but logic has no place in football fandom.
What time does Liverpool v Villa kick off?
Villa’s visit to Anfield will be played at a highly unusual kick-off time because there is a Rugby League Ashes test match being played at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium at 2.30pm on the same day.
With TNT Sports having selected the match for what would otherwise have been a 12.30pm kick-off – and with Liverpool playing in the Champions League on Tuesday and Sunday therefore out of the question regardless – the match moves to the next available slot after Sky Sports’ 5.30pm kick-off.
Consequently, Liverpool v Villa will kick off at 8.00pm on Saturday 1st November.
