Club Statement – Matchday Parking Issues
Dear Residents,
We understand and appreciate the concerns that have been raised regarding parking on football match days.
We recognise that the increased number of vehicles can be inconvenient, and we fully acknowledge the frustration this can cause particularly where there is a risk of obstruction for emergency vehicles.
As a club, we are committed to being good neighbours and maintaining a positive relationship with our local community.
With regard to double yellow lines, these are legally enforceable traffic restrictions that can only be installed by the local council following a formal application and consultation process. While we have discussed submitting an application for restrictions on our side of the road, we feel this may only shift the issue further into the residential areas.
That said, we are actively considering the best way forward to encourage more responsible parking. We will continue to remind supporters not to block driveways or junctions, to park considerately, and where possible to use public transport or nearby car parks.
We kindly ask that any serious parking obstructions on match days be reported to us at the time, so we can respond appropriately and take immediate action where needed.
We will be engaging with other agencies to help solve the problems for all involved.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.
