Patriots’ Drake Maye Explains Why He’s Been Consistent This Season

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is one of the season’s most surprising stars. He’s displayed skill on par with the league’s elite quarterbacks, and on Sunday opened up about the factors that have contributed to his consistent performance this year.

“The guys around me,” Maye said on Sunday when reporters asked what has allowed him to be consistent, via 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Alex Barth, “We’re instilling confidence in each other.”

Maye delivered another outstanding performance, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns as New England defeated the Tennessee Titans 31-13 on Sunday.

The 23-year-old quarterback is making a strong case for NFL MVP after his impressive start to the season. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and the talented playmakers surrounding Maye have significantly contributed to his success.

The Patriots made a stellar move this offseason by signing veteran receiver Stefon Diggs. While Diggs hasn’t found the end zone this season, he’s made an impact in other ways, racking up 39 receptions for 456 yards.

Maye will look to continue his success next week as the Cleveland Browns head to Foxborough. Despite their 2-5 record, the Browns boast one of the top defenses in the NFL, allowing 262.2 total yards per game.
