Titans Rule Out Star Playmaker For Week 7 Game Vs. Patriots

A struggling Tennessee Titans offense won’t have one of its top players for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

The Titans ruled out wide receiver Calvin Ridley for the Week 7 contest, per team reporter Jim Wyatt. The 30-year-old will miss his first game of the 2025 season due to a hamstring injury.

Tennessee also ruled out wide receiver Bryce Oliver and offensive lineman Blake Hance. The defense additionally takes a hit without linebacker Arden Key, who will miss his second straight game with a quad injury.

Ridley is a costly loss for a Titans offense that enters Sunday last in total offense. He’s led the team with 290 receiving yards and produced seven of Tennessee’s 15 passing plays of 20 yards or more.

Ridley hasn’t missed any time since serving a suspension throughout the entire 2022 season for betting on NFL games. The former Atlanta Falcons first-round pick has notched a 1,000-yard campaign for three different teams after clearing the benchmark with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023 (1,016) and the Titans last season (1,017).

Although he’s averaging 18.1 yards per catch, Ridley has yet to build a consistent connection with rookie quarterback Cam Ward. He’s secured 16 of his 35 targets and settled for 30 yards or fewer four times this season.

Ridley broke out for 131 yards in a Week 5 win over the Arizona Cardinals, only to record 18 yards on his only target in a Week 6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Ward is running low on wide receivers entering Sunday’s game against New England. Elic Ayomanor, Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett will look to fill the void when hosting the league’s No. 25 passing defense at Nissan Stadium.

Ridley may not be the only star wideout sidelined, as Mike Vrabel said Friday that Stefon Diggs is questionable to play due to a chest injury. The Week 7 game starts at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
