Aston Villa winners and losers from FPL Gameweek 7: Donyell Malen hits form
The Premier League is back after the international break and it’s bringing FPL back with it, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Aston Villa haven’t been the most productive team for players of the official Fantasy Premier League game, blanking week after week at the start of the season. Slowly but surely, they’re starting to make a contribution.
As you get your team selection lined up for a new gameweek, here’s your delayed look back on GW7 and the fortunes of Villa players within.

Donyell Malen scored a dazzling double in Villa’s win against Burnley, their second Premier League win in a row.

AVF FPL update GW7
Gary James bagged an impressive 97 points to stay comfortably top of the AVF league thanks to big returns from captain Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Jurrien Timber and Mohammed Kudus.
Adham Karam picked up the next highest tally with 88 and, in third place in GW7 was, well, me. That’s moved my team into 55th place and I’m thrilled.
Back up at the top, Warren Torch moved into second and the top five is completed by Hitesh Patel, Wayne Barnard and Adeseye Michael.
63 points for Debbie Mortimer reshaped the bottom five but there’s no change in last place, where James Brownrigg has work to do to climb off the foot of the table.
