FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteer applications close this week
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — If you have a dream of watching World Cup matches live and in person, your chance of doing it for free is closing soon.
The deadline for volunteer applications for the FIFA World Cup 2026 is on Friday. Over 65,000 volunteers are needed to work matches in the U.S., Canada and Mexico for the upcoming tournament, including the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium.
Applications opened in August for volunteers across the 16 host cities. Volunteers will work eight shifts between June 11 and July 19, 2026.
Jobs vary from working at hotels, matches, meet and greets, among others. To see a full list of opportunities, click here.
The original deadline was Sept. 15, but was extended to Friday, Oct. 10, due to a massive amount of interest.
The application includes a try-out and an online assessment. You’ll hear back by next March if you got the job. To start the application, click here.
