How to watch Aston Villa v Burnley: kick-off time, TV channels and streams

0 8

Burnley were promoted back to the Premier League on the back of a club record unbeaten run and have made a pretty respectable start in 2025/26.

Aston Villa welcome the Clarets to Villa Park for their second home Premier League fixture in as many Sundays knowing that Scott Parker and his team showed more stickability in their first home match, a win over Sunderland, than all three promoted teams combined last season.

Burnley have only picked up one point since that win, capitalising on Nottingham Forest’s woes to draw at Turf Moor, but their four league losses shouldn’t lead to any complacency for Unai Emery and Villa; Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are opponents that will beat plenty of teams this season.

Well, not Manchester United. But you take the point.

Villa are now six matches unbeaten in all competitions excluding the penalty shoot-out defeat at Brentford in the League Cup, and have beaten Bologna, Fulham and Feyenoord in their last three matches in the Europa League and Premier League.

The performances have gradually improved too and there’s a renewed sense of optimism and, one hopes, confidence around the place.

Whatever the mood at Bodymoor Heath this week, you can be sure Emery won’t be taking Burnley lightly. It would be a very stupid thing to do.

What time does Villa v Burnley kick off?

After Villa’s second consecutive Thursday night in the Europa League, it’s another Sunday afternoon for Emery’s men. But it’s not a super Sunday afternoon. That’s Brentford v Manchester City at 4.30pm.

Villa v Burnley will kick off at 2.00pm on Sunday 5th October.

Where to watch Villa v Burnley in the UK

Sky Sports now has the rights to show all Premier League matches in the Sunday 2.00pm and 4.30pm slots, meaning bumper coverage on the Sundays after European weeks.

Villa’s match is one of four early kick-offs this weekend and doesn’t make the grade for full-blown television coverage with the other three taking precedence with varying degrees of justifiability.

Villa v Burnley will be broadcast live in the UK on the Sky Sports+ service and app.

We’ll have our reaction to the Villa team news as soon as it’s announced and you can contribute to our fan-based player ratings after the match.
