Squad Planning. Why are Leeds so poor at it?
Junior Firpo..... Playing well in Spain, top tier champ left back last year..... But no earlier sale, went on a free and cost us 17 million..... Definitely could have got 10 million even the season before last.
Meslier.... 40 million valuation not long ago with clubs interested last year and the year before but no sale from leeds. Massive amounts of experience..... Still very young for a keeper... Wanted him sold for big money the season we went down as it was probably the easiest position to replace/upgrade in terms of Mesliers ability.
Considering FFP is so important for us as a newly promoted club is anyone else left wondering why we keep allowing players contracts to run down?
Is it over blown wages? In which case it was an orta problem and not really on the 49'rs a bit like with Bamford as the wage did mlnot match ability leaving potential suitors looking elsewhere.... Or is it that we hold onto players too long giving them the choice to run down their contracts and pick up a pretty massive signing on fee when they leave on a free?
Just don't see the rationale of allowing saleable assets leave for nothing.
