Ballon d’Or 2025 – Inter star Lautaro Martinez in 20th
Inter captain and star Argentina forward Lautaro Martinez has finished in 20th place in this year’s Ballon d’Or.
It was the Argentine’s fourth nomination for the prestigious award, with ‘El Toro”s highest finish in 7th place last year.
Now, as has been revealed through the award’s official X account, the Inter forward has finished in 20th place in the 2025 edition.
This follows a strong season in which Martinez helped Inter reach the final of the Champions League and finish in second place in Serie A.

As aforementioned, the Argentine finished 7th place in the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
This year, he has slipped down 13 places to just 20th.
However, this is not as much of a criticism of his performance last season, as it is overwhelming praise for the season before.
In 2024, Martinez had come off the back of a 24 goal season in Serie A, compared to just 12 last season. Furthermore, the Argentine helped his national side lift Copa America, helped Inter lift the Scudetto and was named Serie A footballer of the year and Serie A MVP.
However, four nominations in five years is good going for the Inter striker and he will be hoping to be included inn the list next year.
