Robert Kraft, Julian Edelman Share Sweet Moment After Patriots Hall Of Fame Induction

The celebration for Julian Edelman continued beyond Saturday’s induction into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.

Following Saturday’s ceremony, Edelman returned to work for FOX’s Sunday pre-game show. Patriots owner Robert Kraft joined the retired wide receiver for an interview on the Gillette Stadium field.

“I love this guy,” Kraft said of Edelman. “He represents all the little guys in America. All the late-round draft picks who play with a big heart.”

Kraft detailed why Edelman means so much to him and the Patriots organization.

“Everyone here loves this guy,” Kraft added. “Because, think about it. In today’s modern NFL, he stayed with us all 12 years. Played his whole career here and helped us win three Super Bowls. Always put team first, showed a great work ethic. Just a perfect example of what a great teammate is. We’re lucky to have him. He came as a seventh-round draft pick and just outworked everybody.”

Edelman joked that he used to call Kraft “LRC” because his name was on the lower right corner of paychecks that always came on time.

“Love you, Mr. Kraft,” Edelman said before kissing Kraft on the forehead.

Edelman then sincerely explained what he misses most about working for Kraft.

“What people don’t realize, (Kraft) was in the building every day,” Edelman said. “He was a part of every single meeting. He was a huge part of our community. He showed us how to be involved in the community. He was a great example, and he did everything it took to win.”

Kraft praised Edelman’s philanthropic contributions off the field while maintaining a commitment to winning on the gridiron.

“There’s no one who creates brand equity like Julian Edelman,” Kraft said.
