Inter receive double boost ahead of Sassuolo in Serie A
Reports in Italy claim that Inter duo Lautaro Martinez and Matteo Darmian are recovering well and are in line to feature for the Nerazzurri when they take on Sassuolo in Serie A over the weekend.
Lautaro and Darmian set for Inter return against Sassuolo
Lautaro Martinez was an unused substitute for Inter’s 2-0 win away against Ajax in their first match of their 2025-26 Champions League campaign on Wednesday night.
The Argentine had been a doubt approaching kick-off, reporting pain in his back, which meant that he had not trained fully with the rest of the team heading into the Ajax clash.
In the end, he was replaced by Francesco Pio Esposito in Cristian Chivu’s starting line-up, and was then left among the substitutes for the duration of the Nerazzurri victory.
Darmian, meanwhile, was not included in the matchday squad at all.
However, according to the latest updates from Sky Sport Italia, both players are recovering well, and baring any last-minute set-backs, should be available for Inter’s upcoming Serie A clash at home against Sassuolo on Sunday evening, kicking off at 19.45 BST.
