Now, club captain Romero has reacted for the first time to the news, with the Argentine thanking Levy for bringing him to the club and for what he achieved.

The centre-back admitted that he is pleased that the players were able to end his reign at the club on a positive note by delivering the Europa League trophy.

When asked about Levy’s exit, Romero said (via Tottenham’s official website): “I don’t know what’s happened, but he is a person who has been at the Club for a good many years. We need to thank him. He brought me here. Fortunately, we could crown his reign with a trophy. I wish the very best.”

Following Levy’s exit, the Lewis family have certainly been making all the right noises in the media.
