Preview: Margate Women

0 0

Following last weekend’s FA Cup victory, Maidstone United Women kick off their league campaign with an away fixture against Margate.

The Stones finished fourth in the SECWFL Premier Division last season, having held second place for much of the campaign.

Manager Tori Campbell has strengthened her squad over the summer, as the team aims to return to the London & South East Regional Women’s League for the first time since the 2022/23 season.

Margate ended last season in seventh place, eight points behind Maidstone. In their two meetings during the 2024/25 season, the Stones won 3-2 at Hartsdown Park but lost 1-0 at the Gallagher Stadium.

Maidstone United Women currently compete at Step 7 of the women’s football pyramid. The other teams in the division are Betteshanger Welfare, Cray Wanderers, Chislehurst Glebe, Hollands & Blair, Kings Hill, Long Lane, Margate, Tonbridge Angels, and Tunbridge Wells Foresters.
