ARSENAL HAVE IT
Some things you have to accept about the opening three games… two of them were really tough away games. Those games can cause aesthetic problems that mean the football played isn’t totally reflective of the vision. That can give us, as basic bitch fans, a bit of a misdirect if total perfection isn’t achieved.
‘WE ARE BORING’
‘ARTETA DOESN’T CARE ABOUT JOY’
‘STODGE FC’
Yes, we said those things.
We were bland against United but won, smashed Leeds, and played better in the Anfield chess games but Liverpool unlocked the match by nuking the board in the last 10 minutes.
Forest was the game that had to settle the series… were we going to show that Arsenal could play a different type of football with a different type of mentality this season?
The answer was emphatically, DAMN RIGHT.
Was the line-up balls out attacking? Yes.
Was the football more fun to watch and aggressive? Yes.
Did we show new levels of clinicality with different types of goals? Yes.
Could we do all this whilst maintaining a defence that was disgustingly frugal? Yes again.
This performance was a Lucozade, a bag of McCoys, and a bacon sandwich after a night on the town.
