Preview: Montrose (H)

Hibernian Women host Montrose this weekend as we return to ScottishPower Women’s Premier League action!

Our fourth league fixture of the campaign will kick-off at 2pm on Sunday 14 September at Meadowbank Stadium. 

THE LOWDOWN

The Hibees return to league action after taking on Inter Milan in the UEFA Europa Cup first qualifying round this past midweek. 

The home leg will take place at Easter Road next Wednesday (17 September) following the 4-1 defeat in Italy. 

Eilidh Adams nabbed our goal on the night but the clinical finishing of the Italians earned them a three-goal advantage heading into next week. 

On the domestic front, Hibs Women currently sit fifth with two wins from three matches — though we have played one game less than eight of our league opponents due to our European commitments.

THE VISITORS

A tough start for Craig Feroz’s side leaves them ninth in the league table after four games played. 

A sensational 4-1 away win over Motherwell put points on the board for Montrose. But they have since lost 2-0 to Aberdeen and 5-0 to Glasgow City in recent weeks. 

We faced Montrose twice last season in the league, with our Meadowbank match-up ending in a 5-1 victory for the Hibees, with Kathleen McGovern, Adams, Rosie Livingstone and Lauren Doran-Barr all on the scoresheet.

Our most recent meeting took place at Links Park, with Livingstone and McGovern once more amongst the goals as we secured a 2-0 win on the road.

Our league meeting with Montrose will kick-off at 2pm on Sunday 14 September at Meadowbank Stadium. 

Match tickets are now on general sale and will be distributed as digital-only tickets.
