Fiorentina director Prade reveals truth behind Italy striker Kean’s summer rumours
Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade spoke to the press today, where he fielded questions on a number of topics, including that of the new contract given to last season’s club top scorer Moise Kean.
Kean has been in the headlines recently after scoring three times in Italy’s two fixtures over the international break and Prade took the time to reveal more on the background of speculation linking Kean away from Fiorentina during the summer, as well as his eventual contract renewal.
“We left any decision up to Kean” – Fiorentina director Prade
Speaking to the press, with quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, Prade said “His story has always been transparent. There was a meeting with the President, who reiterated the desire to continue with Kean. We left any decision up to him at the time of the clause.”
Prade was asked is he was satisfied with La Viola’s summer transfer market, to which he replied “We are satisfied. We did what we set out to do. The President gave us a direction and the goal was to add value to our squad – redeeming the players we wanted to keep and then moving on to strengthening our assets with new signings. Today, the value of the squad has doubled. There were no missed signings. We are happy with the team, also because now we only have two loans with very manageable buy options.”
Finally, the director was asked whether or not Kean is his best signing, “That’s something to be shared because we all believed in him and took a gamble. To date, he has cost us €15 million, bonuses included and his value is reflected by the market. We are happy with him, both as a player and as a man, who embraced Florence and Fiorentina with joy. When he is happy, he can achieve anything.”
