Instagram hint: Amorim handed big injury boost ahead of Man City clash

Manchester United are set to travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

United head coach Ruben Amorim will be concerned over the fitness of his three key players.

Matheus Cunha limped off with a muscle injury after just 30 minutes in the dramatic 3-2 win over Burnley.

Mason Mount was also taken off at the break as a precaution.

Diogo Dalot also withdrew from the Portugal squad for September’s World Cup qualifiers after experiencing muscle discomfort.

While Dalot and Mount are crucial to the team, it is Cunha’s availability that could define United’s chances on derby day.

The Brazilian forward fuelled optimism by posting a gym training picture on Instagram, cheekily captioned “Sunday’s” with a smirking emoji.

Cunha only arrived this summer after United triggered his £62.5 million release clause at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He has injected energy and movement into United’s attack but is still waiting for his first goal in red.

His social media tease hints that he may recover in time to feature in some capacity against City.

If not fit enough to start, Amorim could unleash him as an impact substitute in the second half.

The former Atletico Madrid man has brought directness to United’s attack.

He has fired eight shots in three league games, with five of them being on target.

The Red Devils will start as underdogs at the Etihad Stadium, but Man City are not in the best form either.

For Amorim, this represents the perfect chance to make a statement and claim a landmark victory against a bitter rival.
