NBA All-Time Rank No. 13: Kevin Durant
Ranking the top 50 players in NBA history…
13. Kevin Durant
Durant is arguably the most gifted natural scorer in league history, and his career is fascinating (not to mention ongoing), spanning multiple teams and eras.
Drafted No. 2 overall by the Seattle SuperSonics (later Oklahoma City Thunder) in 2007 out of Texas, Durant has averaged 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists through the 2024-25 season.
A 15-time All-Star, he won NBA MVP in 2014 with the Thunder and has led the league in scoring four times (2010-2012, 2014).
After nine seasons in OKC, which included a 2012 Finals appearance, Durant joined the Golden State Warriors in 2016, winning back-to-back championships (2017, 2018) and Finals MVPs, averaging an incredible 35.2 points per game in the 2017 Finals.
Known for his length, shooting (50/40/90 club member), and versatility, KD has 13 All-NBA selections, and he’s been more durable than you’d expect throughout his career, given his slight frame.
Durant’s major injury came when he ruptured his Achilles in 2019, but he returned strong with the Brooklyn Nets (2019-2023), forming a Big Three with Kyrie Irving and James Harden.
Traded to the Phoenix Suns in 2023 and more recently to the vastly improved Houston Rockets, he continues going after a third ring.
Internationally, Durant has won three Olympic golds (2012, 2016, 2020). Despite criticism for joining superteams, his efficiency and clutch play cement him as one of the greatest scorers of all time.
But who ranks ahead of Durant at No. 12 all-time?
