Re: Car stripping

I don’t disagree but I just don’t know how you fund it.

Re the Americanisation with private security, I see your point but old football stadium are a bit of an anomaly. Normally an events venue has a comprehensive event transport plan or ample car parking and it’s all manned by private security, and I imagine you don’t think the police should be walking round the NEC car parks for instance. St Andrew’s pre dates that, indeed it pre dates the motor car.

I think we need to look at trying to develop a large area of the Wheels site, that hopefully wouldn’t need to be redeveloped straight away, for paid parking and put on shuttles for those that don’t want to walk.

Maybe chuck in another fan experience zone down there and see if we can push to get permission to stream the games, ticketed, for those on the waiting list. This would need a significant law change for clubs to be able to have one venue offsite to show home and away matches, other clubs would like this too.

I do know that it’s annoying that there is lawlessness but there always was lawlessness. Football fans used to kick shit out of each other, gangs ran the nightclubs, we revere the Peaky Blinders who were dick heads in reality. There will always be criminals trying to make a quick buck.

That said the police should be doing what they can to stop the problem both on the street and at source and in the garages.
