Juventus posted a two-word farewell message to bid farewell to midfielder Douglas Luiz, who has officially left the club to join Premier League side Nottingham Forest on loan with a probable obligation to buy.

“Obrigado Dougie,” was the message sent out by the Bianconeri social media team following the completion of Douglas’s move to the City Ground. 

The two clubs announced the transfer late on Thursday evening. Juventus have provided a full break-down of the costs involved: They will receive a €3m loan fee, €25m if the move is made permanent, paid over four financial years, and bonuses of up to €3.5m. 

Douglas Luiz’s loan includes an option to buy that will become an obligation under certain conditions. 

He leaves the club just over a year after his €50m arrival from Aston Villa last summer. The Brazilian, however, struggled to make a lasting impact during his time in Serie A, making just three starts in the league throughout the whole of the 2025-26 campaign.
