Bay bring home a point from Barry

0 4

THE Seagulls brought home a point from their long trip to Barry Town United to make it two draws from their opening two games in the Cymru Premier.

Aaron Williams gave them an early lead, but Barry equalised 15 minutes later and neither side could find a winner – although only a brilliant defensive clearance prevented Sol Forde heading home in the 90th minute to snatch all three points.

The Bay made a great start with Aaron Williams scoring after two minutes with a header at the far post after Barry failed to clear a long free kick into the area and Jordan Davies hooked the ball back into the middle.

Rhys Williams had to make a couple saves before Barry equalised on 17 minutes with Robbie Willmott beating the offside trap and running onto Ieuan Owen’s through ball to fire into the bottom corner.

Willmott had another shot cleared off the line, while Barry fired a free kick from a dangerous position over the bar and a teasing cross from Mikey George was also cleared off the line before half-time.

In the second half Ieuan Owen went close and Ollie Hulbert had a header saved by Rhys Williams, while for the Bay Aaron Williams was put clear by Jordan Davies, but delayed his shot too long and was tackled.

Barry efforts from Eliot Richards and Willmott were off target, before Sol Forde was denied the late chance to win it.
