Thomas Frank and another senior Tottenham figure are driving Eberechi Eze pursuit
Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that a Tottenham figure has a close relationship with Eberechi Eze, and he is one of the people pushing the North London club to strike a deal for the Crystal Palace star.
After it appeared as if Spurs’ pursuit of the Palace star had ended, the Lilywhites have sensational rekindled their interest in the England international over the last week.
A number of sources are reporting that Eze is far more likely to end up at Tottenham than Arsenal this summer.
In fact, according to an update by The Daily Mail, Spurs are now ‘inching closer’ to striking a deal for Eze, who is valued at around £68m by the Eagles.
Justin Cochrane is driving Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze
It was previously reported by Spurs insider Paul O Keefe that Tottenham assistant coach Justin Cochrane has a very close relationship with Eze.
This has now been confirmed by Ben Jacobs, who revealed that Cochraine and Frank are the ones who are the driving forces behind the Lilywhites’ push to land the 27-year-old.
Jacobs said on the Market Madness podcast: “The last thing I can exclusively reveal relates to Justin Cochrane, who is somebody very well known to Eberechi Eze, and also a confidant of Thomas Frank being an assistant coach at Tottenham.
“He and Frank are the two that are driving this move, and Daniel Levy is prepared to back Thomas Frank with budget.”
Eze makes Tottenham transfer intention clear
According to reports, the former QPR man has taken a decisive step as Tottenham prepares their opening offer for him.
It was reported by Fabrizio Romano yesterday that Eze has made it clear to Palace that he is keen on joining Tottenham.
Another factor working in Tottenham’s favour is that sources indicate that Arsenal are no longer too keen on Eze as they are prioritising signing a left-winger rather than a number ten.
