Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Fiorentina, Dorgu & Maguire in

0 7

Manchester United take on Fiorentina in today’s friendly at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have had a promising pre-season with two wins and two draws.

They will be aiming to secure a victory over Fiorentina this afternoon. The game will act as preparation for the Premier League curtain-raiser against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Ahead of the game, manager Ruben Amorim could make some changes to the starting XI. In our view, he is likely to pick his best line-up as a warm-up for the league opener.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

With Andre Onana yet to fully recover from a hamstring injury, Altay Bayindir looks poised to start in goal. The Turkish ace needs a strong performance to get the nod against Arsenal.

In front of him, Leny Yoro should be an assured starter in central defence, having been picked in the first XI for every game in pre-season. Luke Shaw is another strong candidate to do so. He has started in the left centre-back role for the last two outings ahead of Ayden Heaven and could keep his place.

Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt have swapped places in the middle of the back three. The former was a substitute in the 2-2 draw against Everton and could make the XI ahead of De Ligt.

Amad Diallo has been ever-present in the starting line-up during pre-season and looks certain to start at right wing-back ahead of Diogo Dalot. Patrick Dorgu has been hugely impressive too. He scored and assisted in the recent win over Bournemouth. The Dane should get the nod at left wing-back.

Kobbie Mainoo is likely to drop to the bench with Bruno Fernandes coming into central midfield. Manuel Ugarte had a poor outing against Everton. His loss of possession contributed to the Toffees’ opening goal.

The Uruguayan also constantly lost the ball shortly after the break. Despite this, he may make the line-up over Casemiro due to his extra mobility and work rate from the number six position.

Further forward, we anticipate Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to occupy the number 10 roles with Rasmus Hojlund leading the line. Hojlund could be making his farewell appearance.

Benjamin Sesko will be unveiled to the fans at Old Trafford today, but is unlikely to make an appearance. Hojlund, who is the subject of interest from AC Milan, is likely to start upfront.

Joshua Zirkzee could make a cameo off the bench, having just returned from injury.
