Reaction: Bowie At The Double

Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie was delighted at full time after his brace helped the Hibees get our 2025/26 league campaign off to a winning start.

Kieron scored twice in three minutes in the first half to put the Hibees in a commanding position before Finlay Robertson pulled on back before half-time.

The Hibees dominated the match from start to finish and were thoroughly deserving of the three points on the day.

Speaking after the full time whistle, Kieron Bowie told Hibs TV how happy he was with the result and his contribution.

“The Gaffer said before the game, that we needed to bounce back after the disappointment from Thursday. We knew that we needed to pick three points and that is exactly what we got today.

“I thought we were the only team in the game, we gave them a lifeline with their goal before half-time but we managed to see the game out in the second half.

“They limited us to very little chances – it was a tight pitch, so it was difficult to break down their low block. Both of my chances were only half-chances to be honest, the ball just dropped to me and thankfully I was able to find the finish.

“To score on the first day of the season and to get my tally going is unreal for me.

“We’ve got a quick-turnaround between games, but we will be sure to give it everything on Thursday.”
