Bundesliga club open talks with Chelsea over deal for Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea have been very active in the ongoing summer transfer window.
They made a brilliant start to the window by acquiring Liam Delap’s services in a £30 million deal.
Two more high-profile players Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens then arrived at Stamford Bridge to further reinforce their attack ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Chelsea are now focused on offloading their unwanted stars and they have received a boost in their efforts to sell Carney Chukwuemeka.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are interested in signing Chukwuemeka this summer.
The Red Bulls have opened talks with the Blues regarding a move for the midfielder.
Chelsea signed Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa three years ago, but he has failed to establish himself as a regular in the first-team, making 32 appearances across all competitions so far.
After remaining on the fringes of the squad in West London, the Premier League club sent him on loan to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of last season.
He performed a decent job during his brief stint in Germany, featuring in 17 matches and scoring a goal.
But Dortmund are not keen to exercise the option to buy, rather they are looking for another loan deal for the 21-year-old.
However, Chelsea prefer a permanent sale, valuing the Englishman at around £40 million. He has three years left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
Leipzig have now entered the race for Chukwuemeka, but it remains to be seen whether they will meet the Blues’ asking fee.
