Report: Everton active in talks for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz
Everton have emerged as strong contenders to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz and have opened talks to sign the Brazilian, reports from England claim.
According to TeamTalk, talks between the two clubs are in preliminary stages but Toffees head coach David Moyes is very keen on having the former Aston Villa man reinforce his midfield for the new season.
Everton hope to beat Premier League rivals to Douglas Luiz signing
The reports suggest, however, that Everton are not the only team interested in signing the Juventus player. Fulham, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and his old club Aston Villa are all rumoured to have an interest in the Brazilian.
Despite this, TeamTalk suggest that Everton are the most advanced in the race for the 27-year-old.
Juventus reportedly want just €25 million for Luiz, who signed for the Bianconeri for double that figure last summer.
He played just 19 times for the Old Lady in the 2024-25 Serie A season, failing to register a single goal or assist and picking up two yellow cards.
