Report: Liverpool ready to enter bidding for 22-goal Chelsea and Man United target

Liverpool are interested in signing the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike during the summer transfer window. 

According to a report from Fichajes, they are ready to accelerate their move to sign the 23-year-old striker.

They are aware of the fact that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the player as well. They are now prepared to enter the bidding war for Ekitike.

Liverpool need the Frankfurt striker

Hugo Ekitike was outstanding in the Bundesliga last season, and he scored 22 goals in all competitions. He picked up 12 assists as well. Liverpool need someone like him to replace Darwin Nunez, who scored just seven goals last season.

The Frenchman is more than just a goal scorer. He will add creativity and flair to the side as well. He has the tools to develop into a complete forward in future. The opportunity to move to Liverpool could be ideal for him. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.

Meanwhile, the player is valued at €100 million, and it will be interesting to see if any club is willing to pay up.

Chelsea and Man United keen on Hugo Ekitike

Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping tabs on his situation as well. Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. It would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in another attacker this summer. They should look to sign a quality wide player instead.

As for Manchester United, they are in desperate need of a reliable centre forward. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have been underwhelming. They need to be replaced if Manchester United are serious about fighting for trophies.

It is unlikely that Liverpool and Manchester United will agree to pay €100 million for a player who is still largely unproven at the highest level. Frankfurt will have to be reasonable with their demands in order for the move to go through.
