Chelsea expected to rival Tottenham with late Mohammed Kudus bid over £50m
West Ham could spark a bidding war for Mohammed Kudus as Chelsea prepare an offer that surpasses Tottenham’s rejected bids.
Tottenham Hotspur would be desperate not to miss out on another of their transfer targets this summer, as they continue their chase for Mohammed Kudus.
Preparations for the upcoming season have already begun, but Tottenham are yet to add any new faces to their squad, with their only completed deals being the permanent signings of players they had on loan last winter.
Kota Takai’s fee has been agreed, but official confirmation from the club remains pending, as the centre-back is yet to make the move to north London.
Chelsea to bid more for Mohammed Kudus than Tottenham
Tottenham are keen to make Mohammed Kudus one of their summer additions, but they have already seen three of their bids rejected, having failed to meet West Ham United’s valuation.
Spurs could miss out on the Ghanaian international who is valued at over £60 million if they do not act swiftly, as their Premier League rivals continue to sniff around and weigh up their approaches.
Chelsea are one of those rivals, with the Blues eager to bolster their squad further this summer, particularly in attack, and have also identified Mohammed Kudus as one of their key targets.
According to Jacob Steinberg, it is now understood that while West Ham turned down a third bid from Tottenham, they are expecting an offer from Chelsea.
None of Tottenham’s three bids so far have gone above £50m in guaranteed cash. The latest offer was £50m plus another £12.5m in unrealistic add-ons that included Spurs winning the Premier League and Champions League. It appears Chelsea could offer slightly above the £50m cash mark in the coming days.
When Chelsea could move for Kudus, all thanks to Arsenal
The Blues are expected to begin their pursuit of Mohammed Kudus once they complete the sale of former Tottenham winger Noni Madueke.
The England international is attracting interest from Arsenal, and Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today that the Gunners have agreed personal terms with Madueke.
It is understood that an agreement between Chelsea and Arsenal is all that remains in negotiations, and should a deal be finalised, the Blues are likely to turn their attention to finding a replacement, with Kudus said to be firmly on their radar.
