Alphonso Davies shocked by Jamal Musiala’s injury during Bayern Munich vs. PSG livestream

While on stream, Alphonso Davies reacted shockingly to Jamal Musiala's injury in Bayern Munich vs. PSG game in FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

Jamal Musiala’s serious injury in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarterfinal between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain sent shockwaves through the soccer world. Among those visibly affected was teammate and Canadian international Alphonso Davies, who had a stunned reaction while watching the match live on stream.

Musiala sustained the injury while applying pressure near the goal line in an attempt to recover the ball from PSG defender William Pacho. As goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma came off his line to secure possession, he collided with Musiala, catching the German’s right ankle under his body in a heavy challenge that resulted in a severe injury.

Davies, tuning in from a distance via his Twitch channel “alphonsodavies,” was cheering on Bayern during the high-stakes showdown. But when Musiala went down just before halftime, the left back was left in disbelief, visibly shaken and concerned for his friend and teammate’s condition.

Bayern Munich have yet to release an official statement regarding Musiala’s status. However, the immediate reactions from Donnarumma, Musiala’s teammates, and now Davies have only intensified concerns about the 22-year-old’s condition and long-term outlook.

Why isn’t Alphonso Davies with Bayern Munich squad?

As Davies streamed the match, many fans questioned why he wasn’t with the Bayern squad for the Club World Cup. The Canadian defender is currently sidelined as he continues to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee, sustained in late March.

The injury occurred just 10 minutes into Canada’s third-place match against the USMNT in the Concacaf Nations League. Davies went down awkwardly and required immediate medical attention before being substituted.

The setback has ruled him out for much of 2025. According to Bayern’s medical team, Davies is targeting a return in late September, provided his recovery stays on track without complications.
